The Coming of Christ
"...If ye then be risen with Christ, seek those things which are above, where Christ sitteth on the right hand of God.
Set your affection on things above, not on things on the earth.
For ye are dead, and your life is hid with Christ in God.
When Christ, who is our life, shall appear, then shall ye also appear with him in glory..." Col 3:1-4.
"...The Spirit itself beareth witness with our spirit, that we are the children of God:
And if children, then heirs; heirs of God, and joint-heirs with Christ; if so be that we suffer with him, that we may be also glorified together.
"...For I reckon that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory which shall be revealed in us..." Rom 8:16-17.
But as it is written, Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love him.
"...But God hath revealed them unto us by his Spirit: for the Spirit searcheth all things, yea, the deep things of God..." 1 Cor 2:9-10.
"... And not only they, but ourselves also, which have the firstfruits of the Spirit, even we ourselves groan within ourselves, waiting for the adoption, to wit, the redemption of our body.
For we are saved by hope: but hope that is seen is not hope: for what a man seeth, why doth he yet hope for?
But if we hope for that we see not, then do we with patience wait for it.
Likewise the Spirit also helpeth our infirmities: for we know not what we should pray for as we ought: but the Spirit itself maketh intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered.
And he that searcheth the hearts knoweth what is the mind of the Spirit, because he maketh intercession for the saints according to the will of God..." Rom 8:23-27.
"....I have yet many things to say unto you, but ye cannot bear them now.
Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth: for he shall not speak of himself; but whatsoever he shall hear, that shall he speak: and he will show you things to come.
He shall glorify me: for he shall receive of mine, and shall show it unto you.
All things that the Father hath are mine: therefore said I, that he shall take of mine, and shall show it unto..." John 16:12-15.
"...Behold, what manner of love the Father hath bestowed upon us, that we should be called the sons of God: therefore the world knoweth us not, because it knew him not..."
Beloved, now are we the sons of God, and it doth not yet appear what we shall be: but we know that, when he shall appear, we shall be like him; for we shall see him as he is.
And every man that hath this hope in him purifieth himself, even as he is pure..."1 John 3:1-3.
LM
We're led to feel earth's vanity,
We then can feel eternity;
- Faith's view of immortality,
There with its own reality.
Here in Hope, the new creature waits,
Their earnest now, with saints relates;
He manifests Himself in them,
As even now, His reign begins.
The sufferings now can't compare
With the joys we shall know there;
The Comforter now leads us in,
New paths where we have never been.
He now in Glory does appear,
And even dwells with us down here;
But, oh, the glory of that Day,
When the dark veil is drawn away;
For our natural eyes cannot see,
Our natural mind cannot believe;
What now for us, He hath prepared,
With that in nature's, not compared;
By His Spirit they are revealed;
And in our heart these things are sealed;
The things of Christ, that are so deep,
That flesh and blood can never keep;
He searches through the inner man,
For He knows the Mind of God's Plan;
Knows where the Hope of Glory is,
To show to us the things of His.
The Things of God, to us He gives,
As His Own Spirit in us lives;
When this world's spirit is cast out,
And it's old power is put to rout.
This is the way Christ now appears;
This is the way He saves from fears;
For natu'ral eyes, hath not Christ seen,
Nor have they looked upon this scene.
The gift of faith brings Him to view,
Though, seems it's given to a few;
For faith comes through the gift of Grace,
To those in Love, He does embrace.
It is a place of glory now;
When we are led, before Him bow;
When He in LIfe, does now appear,
And drives away our doubt and fear;
But Oh! the Glory of that world,
Where His bright Glory, there unfurled,
For John, on Patmos, faintly tells,
The Splendor of where Jesus dwells.
For, He Himself, the brightness is,
The Glory ever, has been His;
We'll see Him as He fully is,
And feel the Love to us He gives.
