A Gospel Church - How Shall They Preach, Except They Be Sent?
Can there be a true "church" (called out assembly of believers) If their "conversion" is based upon (receiving and believing) a false (untrue) gospel?
"...How then shall they call on him in whom they have not believed? and how shall they believe in him of whom they have not heard? and how shall they hear without a preacher?
"...And how shall they preach, except they be sent? as it is written, How beautiful are the feet of them that preach the gospel of peace, and bring glad tidings of good things!..." Rom 10:14-15.
8,7
When Jesus sent His preachers out
To declare that He had come;
It was not done, this world to route,
Or to clean up all their scum.
Or not to change world politics,
As is also taught by some;
Or either be a mere critic,
When it is all said and done.
Men have many foundations built,
Though established on the sand;
-On sands of pride and inner guilt
Do these old foundations stand.
Now I would here the question ask,
If it's not impertinent,
-And if it's not too great a task,
Are all modern preachers sent?
-Were just one "of the boys" down home,
When around the little crowd;
-A great "Evangelist" in Nome,
Where they strive and cry aloud.
If they can't preach in Birmingham,
Can they therefore preach in Rome?
-There can't preach Christ, the ordained Lamb,
Can they preach Him up in Nome?
- In Jacksonville, don't know His Power,
Then, where ever they may roam,
Though they strive with all their ardor,
If they don't know Christ at home?
Christ is not a mere "offer" sent,
But is a Gift from the Lord;
What's more than this- not's worth one cent,
- But is all they can afford.
Their whole machine is falsely built
On a "gospel" that saves none;
- (Christ's not sure of whom His blood's spilt
Or a finished work He's done.)
Salvation is indefinite -
(Perhaps then, Christ did save none?)
Then His Power is not Infinite,
When it is all said and done.
Isaiah said, Christ saw His seed,
Even when they were not born;
And said His Spirit would these lead,
Though in all the earth forlorn.
Nowhere He said He'd "try" to save,
Or to do the "best" He can;
God's angel said, so very brave,
And Christ repeats so often:
"I'll save my people from their sin,
For to this end, I was sent,
And to the world, now am herein,
And why from God, made descent."
But every house, not on this built
In time, will begin to tilt;
Then, when the storm to it's full hilt,
Will bring it all to mere silt.
On a surer foundation rests,
Those who are called, and thus blest;
Salvation's work, Christ all has done,
And none are lost, no, not one.
A house prepared upon the tree,
For this, our Jesus did run;
From death and sin He set us free,
When it was all said and done.
In this Gospel the church can rest,
When man has done nature's best;
A foundation to bear this test,
And on these glad tidings rest.
Then, how beautiful are these hills
And the feet of them with peace;
When Christ in them His peace fulfills,
Then their doubt and fear will cease.
