A Man Of Sorrows
8,6,5,6,10,6
"...Who hath believed our report? and to whom is the arm of the LORD revealed?
For he shall grow up before him as a tender plant, and as a root out of a dry ground: he hath no form nor comeliness; and when we shall see him, there is no beauty that we should desire him.
He is despised and rejected of men; a man of sorrows, and acquainted with grief: and we hid as it were our faces from him; he was despised, and we esteemed him not.
Surely he hath borne our griefs, and carried our sorrows: yet we did esteem him stricken, smitten of God, and afflicted.
But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed...
"Isa 53:1-5.
Jesus, to Heaven, now is gone,
No more, this earth to roam;
His grief and sorrows now are past,
He's in Heaven, His home.
Chorus:
Jesus left His home,
Down on this earth to roam,
Jesus was a man of constant sorrow,
-Tread the winepress alone;
Oh, He suffered here, that you here might sing,
And take you to His home.
No more to walk Galilee's hills,
Here in this earth so long;
But His Spirit, He left here still,
- His Love doth still belong;
Chorus:
Soon we'll follow on,
No more to be alone,
In Him we'll rise in glory there to sing,
And ever be at home,
He'll bear us away on Love's heav'nly wings,
To our eternal home.
In time He'll call us by His Grace,
To sing redemption's Song,
And there forever see His Face,
For you to Him belong.
Chorus:
O, to hear that call,
Where we dwell on this ball;
His Love and Pow'r shall then our souls enthrall,
And call us to our home,
And bear us away on these heav'nly wings,
To our eternal home.
Jesus lived here in this old earth,
And well, all things He's done;
He lived, that we might have new birth,
And after Him could run.
Chorus:
Christ on earth did stand,
As was forever planned,
For it became Him to be made like us;
And know this earthly home;
To bear us away on Love's heav'nly wings,
To our eternal home.
Oh, what a blessing, this to know
The Love of Christ so dear;
That God in Jesus pleased to show,
To us while we lived here.
Chorus:
O, come, Jesus come,
When to death, we succumb,
And bear us away in your arms of Love,
To our eternal home,
And bear us away in your arms of Love,
To our eternal home,
