A Prayer for the Acceptable Day

Hosea 6:3

S.M. 6,6,8,6

"...Likewise the Spirit also helpeth our infirmities: for we know not what we should pray for as we ought: but the Spirit itself maketh intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered..." Rom 8:26.

"...In an acceptable time have I heard thee, and in a day of salvation have I helped thee: and I will preserve thee, and give thee for a covenant of the people, to establish the earth, to cause to inherit the desolate heritages;.." Isa 49:8.

"...To proclaim the acceptable year of the LORD..." Isa 61:2

"...The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he hath anointed me to preach the gospel to the poor; he hath sent me to heal the brokenhearted, to preach deliverance to the captives, and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty them that are bruised, To preach the acceptable year of the Lord." Luke 4:19.

"...To the praise of the glory of his grace, wherein he hath made us accepted in the beloved..." Eph. 1:6.

I know not how to pray
Tho’ I share this Bright Day;
For cannot in the Spirit stay
-Yet in the earth must lay.

No groaning in this flesh,
The Spirit is my stay;
It’s sweet voice must my soul refresh.
In this accepted Day;

For God doth search my heart,
He knows what’s best for me;
His Spirit here must my path chart,
And daily set me free.

The path and way He leads,
I walk by faith, not sight;
He in kindness my soul yet feeds,
And gives me daily light.

His face I have not seen,
Yet His dear name I love,
And know His grace can wash me clean,
Because He lives above;

Where He pleads His Own blood
For those He died to save;
Because a Lamb Etern’lly stood,
And His Life for them gave.

For my good all things work
Because He first loved me;
His Father's will He did not shirk,
But died upon the tree.

For whom He did foreknow,
Ordained in The Dear Son;
Called, justified - His Glory show,
When Christ thru’ earth did run.

Now is the blessed Day
The Dear Lord has prepared;
In darkness we no longer stay -
He for His Own hath cared.

A Day that saints long sought,
A Day they pointed to;
A Day of which their language taught,
Till their Old Day was through.

Oh, what a blessed Way;
God Himself gave this Day;
This is the acceptable Day!
-Shall with us ever stay.

The Acceptableness
Was all of Christ in God;
Brought by His own righteousness;
His blood hath stained this sod.

We did not Him accept,
This we could not afford;
But this Day, for us He has kept,
Jesus, Who is the Lord!

In Christ, God did accept
His own before the world;
And this Passover for them kept,
When Time it’s course unfurled.

This is the Day Christ made,
Let His people rejoice;
In Him they’re found acceptable;
Because His Holy choice.

When He ends my blest Day,
He'll chart for worlds unknown;
He’ll waft me to Eternal Day;
I’ll know there I’m His Own;

He’ll take me to my long sought home,
With Him I’ll ever stay.
