The New Heaven and Earth

"...And I saw a new heaven and a new earth: for the first heaven and the first earth were passed away; and there was no more sea.
And I John saw the holy city, new Jerusalem, coming down from God out of heaven, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband.
And I heard a great voice out of heaven saying, Behold, the tabernacle of God is with men, and he will dwell with them, and they shall be his people, and God himself shall be with them, and be their God.
And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away.
And he that sat upon the throne said, Behold, I make all things new. And he said unto me, Write: for these words are true and faithful.
And he said unto me, It is done. I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end. I will give unto him that is athirst of the fountain of the water of life freely..." Rev 21:1:6.

"...There is a river, the streams whereof shall make glad the city of God, the holy place of the tabernacles of the most High.
God is in the midst of her; she shall not be moved: God shall help her, and that right early..." Psa 46:4-5.

"...And he showed me a pure river of water of life, clear as crystal, proceeding out of the throne of God and of the Lamb..." Rev 22:1.

"...Sacrifice and offering thou didst not desire; mine ears hast thou opened: burnt offering and sin offering hast thou not required.
Then said I, Lo, I come: in the volume of the book it is written of me, I delight to do thy will, O my God: yea, thy law is within my heart.
I have preached righteousness in the great congregation: lo, I have not refrained my lips, O LORD, thou knowest.
I have not hid thy righteousness within my heart; I have declared thy faithfulness and thy salvation: I have not concealed thy lovingkindness and thy truth from the great congregation..." Psa 40:6-10.

THERE IS A RIVER

There is a city here below,
It was God's Will, on His bestow;
In that city His saints now dwell,
For Jesus there does all things well.

John saw this city coming down,
From He Who wore the sun and crown,
- Crowned with the twelve stars on His Head,
Whose' now alive, though once was dead;

And in this city Jesus dwells,
And makes these waters ever swell;
An onward, constant flowing stream,
In all of those He did redeem.

A city with a street of gold,
So pure, the value can't be told;
Nor can we reckon up a cost,
Our minds in wonder, there are lost;

For Christ Himself, in midst there stands,
Throughout His church, her lovely bands;
The Word He speaks, does in them dwell,
Is ever springing as a Well;

For they are Spirit, they are Life,
Transcends all of their earthly strife;
While His Life of faith on each side,
With Law and Grace does still abide.

This river flows to His dear poor,
And makes His promises secure;
The leaves on This Tree does reveal
That all their wounds He still doth heal.

He's in her midst, she'll not be moved,
His Power and Presence is there proved;
Emmanuel, within them lives,
And all her Life and comfort gives.

The curse of sin He takes away,
In this His Own, His Gospel Day;
Reveals to them that He did die,
And on His work they do rely.

In Jesus, they can see God's Face,
Their minds, His Love, do there embrace;
The night of Death is passed away,
For He's the Light of this bright Day.

Death is abolished with His blood,
And this water flows as a flood,
Through this sweet city ever flows,
His Love and Mercy, ever shows;

Of nature's light, they need have none,
For Jesus is their Shining Sun;
The elements have passed away,
Now He's the Substance of their Day.

An oven burns, their works consume,
Leaves nature's goodness there no room;
For Christ their Goodness, in them lives,
And of His Goodness, to them gives.

He made them just with God, you see,
When He suffered here on the tree,
His Spirit now to them He sends,
Their thanks and praise to Him ascends;

In Him their fruit is always found
Upon this good and gracious ground;
This River makes His plants to grow,
Within this garden here below.

How peaceful, lovely is the sight!
That Love and Grace now brings to sight;
True and Faithful, our Lord God is,
And all the Glory shall be His.

His promises, then are not sealed,
But by His Spirit, now revealed;
Though kept secret in ages past,
Were held by Christ, sure and stedfast;

For to His church are now revealed
The sayings that before were sealed;
And to His saints are now made known
Where Grace's legacy is shown;

Mercy and Truth looked from above,
Holy, and without blame in Love;
To His heirs He now testifies,
"My Grace and blood, thee justifies;

"I'll bless thee now with joys unknown,
Give thee a crown, before not known;
I'll walk and talk in thee, e'en now,
With every grace I did endow;

And when these blessings here are done,
And here your course has fully run;
I'll take you to Myself on High,
To Brighter Worlds above this sky,

"And know My Glory, here first shown,
Did only portend that then known;
- When changed in that Immortal Bliss,
In Realms that ever are ageless."
