The Obedience Of Faith
Rom 1
"…Paul, a servant of Jesus Christ, called to be an apostle, separated unto the gospel of God…" Rom 1:1.
"… By whom we have received grace and apostleship, for obedience to the faith among all nations, for his name:
Among whom are ye also the called of Jesus Christ…" Rom 1:5-6.
"…And profited in the Jews' religion above many my equals in mine own nation, being more exceedingly zealous of the traditions of my fathers.
But when it pleased God, who separated me from my mother's womb, and called me by his grace,
To reveal his Son in me, that I might preach him among the heathen; immediately I conferred not with flesh and blood…" Gal 1:14-16.
"... And of Joseph he said, Blessed of the LORD be his land, for the precious things of heaven, for the dew, and for the deep that coucheth beneath,
And for the precious fruits brought forth by the sun, and for the precious things put forth by the moon,
And for the chief things of the ancient mountains, and for the precious things of the lasting hills,
And for the precious things of the earth and fulness thereof, and for the good will of him that dwelt in the bush: let the blessing come upon the head of Joseph, and upon the top of the head
of him that was separated from his brethren..." Deu 33:13-16.
"... And Moses said unto the LORD, See, thou sayest unto me, Bring up this people: and thou hast not let me know whom thou wilt send with me. Yet thou hast said, I know thee by name, and thou hast also found grace in my sight.
Now therefore, I pray thee, if I have found grace in thy sight, show me now thy way, that I may know thee, that I may find grace in thy sight: and consider that this nation is thy people.
And he said, My presence shall go with thee, and I will give thee rest.
And he said unto him, If thy presence go not with me, carry us not up hence.
For wherein shall it be known here that I and thy people have found grace in thy sight? is it not in that thou goest with us? so shall we be separated, I and thy people, from all the people that are upon the face of the earth..." Exo 33:12-16.

"Paul", among the Gentiles was called,
A servant of his Lord;
Whom, by his change, men were appalled,
And by the Jews deplored.
And by the Jews deplored,
By these he was deplored,
By the Jews He was deplored.
To trust in works, and in the Law,
No longer could afford;
When Life in Christ, his spirit saw,
Jesus was truly Lord.
Jesus was truly Lord,
This Dear Jesus was Lord,
For Christ Jesus was truly Lord.
Christ to this word, did separate,
And called him by His Grace;
God’s Spirit in him operate,
To look on Jesus’ face.
To look on Jesus’ face,
Now to look on His face,
-To ever look on Jesus' face.
A Pharisee, was set apart,
To trust in all the Law;
Saul now was called - it’s way depart,
-From it’s old binding claw.
From it’s old binding claw,
From the Law's binding claw,
-From Moses' Law's old blinding claw.
To separate Paul from it’s power,
From bondage to go free;
It’s broadness now could no more tower,
When with Law must agree,
When with Law must agree,
With the Law, must agree,
- When with the Law he must agree,
As sinner, chief, laid it’s old claim,
Upon this sinful man;
In wretchedness, made Paul exclaim,
When Life the Law did scan,
When Life the Law did scan,
His sin the Law did scan,
- When Jesus' Life the Law did scan,
"I am not worthy to be called
The least of all the saints"
"Upon this ground, I lie here sprawled,
My soul within me faints,
My soul within me faints,
This heart within me faints,
- My soul within me hereby faints."
It’s righteous claim on all does lay,
When they are called by Grace;
They find themselves only earth’s clay,
And of a fallen race,
And of a fallen race,
Of man's old fallen race,
- Find that they're of a fallen race.
For sin in Adam did sep’rate,
Communion from our God;
It made a large gulf, wide and great,
To man upon this clod;
To man upon this clod,
Even where Jesus trod,
- To fallen man upon this clod.
But Christ has breached this awful span,
And took the barriers down;
He healed the breach ‘tween God and man,
And more, gave man a crown,
And more, gave man a crown,
Freely gave us a crown,
- He freely gave His Own a crown.
Where the first man did separate
Between his God and man,
What tongue can tell the Love so great
That this great gulf did span,
That this great gulf did span,
His blood this gulf did span,
- His Dear Love, this great gulf did span.
Whom in our Day again appeared,
Our sin to put away;
We now rejoice where we once feared,
And rest in Christ’s New Day,
Rest in The Savior’s Day
- And rest in Christ’s New Day,
And rest in this, His Gospel Day.
