Passing Away To That Sweet Home

"...The LORD possessed me in the beginning of his way, before his works of old. I was set up from everlasting, from the beginning, or ever the earth was. When there were no depths, I was brought forth; when there were no fountains abounding with water.
Before the mountains were settled, before the hills was I brought forth: While as yet he had not made the earth, nor the fields, nor the highest part of the dust of the world.
When he prepared the heavens, I was there: when he set a compass upon the face of the depth:
When he established the clouds above: when he strengthened the fountains of the deep:
When he gave to the sea his decree, that the waters should not pass his commandment: when he appointed the foundations of the earth:
Then I was by him, as one brought up with him: and I was daily his delight, rejoicing always before him;
Rejoicing in the habitable part of his earth; and my delights were with the sons of men..." Prov 8:22-31.

LM

Oft my heart has been set below,
I'ts pleasures through this earth to trace;
But now it turns to things above,
To sweet Jesus and His Dear Love.

I, far from Him have been away,
Long my heart in this world did stay;
Again He moves within my breast, -
And now He does my soul refresh.

My affections roamed o'er the hills,
In trees and skies, sometimes lay still,
But, now seeks the Hope of Heaven;
The sweet, brighter home, Christ has giv'n.

What a blessing His name's to me !
More than rivers, mountains and sea,
This Hope within, none can compare,
Which God in Him did here prepare !

It was only by His Dear Grace,
He was pleased I'll see His Dear Face,
Not by one work that I have done,
But that God loved me in His Son.

Before the dust of mountains laid,
His Power and Love was on me staid;
Before the dust of highest hills,
Before the streams of rocks and rills;

He was rejoicing in His earth,
Before the fountains knew their birth,
Delighting in the sons of men,
And was their Savior, even then.

O ! Jesus, what a weary world,
As The Father's Will is unfurled;
For Thou did suffer here also;
Sorrow and death, did also know !

So, as earth's beauty fades away,
The light grows dimmer, day by day;
Stronger this Hope does in me rise,
And more I long for brighter skies.

Where sin no more my peace destroy,
Or Heaven's rest cannot alloy;
But swim in seas of Jesus Love,
With Him forever, there above.
