I WILL BLESS THE LORD AT ALL TIMES

Psalm 34:1- 4

By O. Allen Bailey

L. M.

‘Tis I so often do forget
When in my mouth cannot beget,
To bless the Lord in all my time,
Where’er I be in every clime.

For in my flesh I daily find,
Or any of the human kind;
His Spirit does not ever strive
To always keep our soul alive.

Still in my Lord I boast and find,
Then I’m made humble in my mind
Of Him Who yet remains my trust;
Though I am sunk in this world’s dust.

-Still find His praise within my mouth,
Though may have traveled north or south,
Though I’ve forgot Him day-to-day;
Still can’t escape His shining ray.

So glad in Christ my soul to make,
Then all the pow’rs of flesh can’t shake,
That all His name I might exalt,
That in His Word I may not halt;

He makes me seek Him in my fear
- Makes me forsake what I held dear
He hears my pray’r when sunken low
In all this vain world here below.

His path for me I can’t unfold
Nor can I presume to grow bold;
For in His Will I still must wait
And leave to Him my utter fate.

He knows the path I daily make,
And knows the way that I must take;
Knows my desire to do His Will.
And in my heart His Word fulfill.

I sought the Lord, He heard my pray’r
Then teaches me I’m all His care,
He makes me know He’ll not forsake
Though all earth’s pow’rs my soul shall shake.

He keeps His joy within my heart
And foils the earthly plans I start;
Oh! When His Face one Day to see!
In His full likeness then shall be.
