He Shall Save His People From Their Sins

"...But thou, Bethlehem Ephratah, though thou be little among the thousands of Judah, yet out of thee shall he come forth unto me that is to be ruler in Israel; whose goings forth have been from of old, from everlasting." Micah 5:2.

"...But while he thought on these things, behold, the angel of the Lord appeared unto him in a dream, saying, Joseph, thou son of David, fear not to take unto thee Mary thy wife: for that which is conceived in her is of the Holy Ghost.

And she shall bring forth a son, and thou shalt call his name JESUS: for he shall save his people from their sins..." Matt 1:20-21.

LM

'Tis sweet to think of our Jesus,
From death and fear does release us,
By faith, know He left His dear Home
To save His people, all alone.

O ! God Himself came to this earth !
To prove to sinners His dear worth;
- In sorrow, through this earth did run -
For we poor sinners, worth had none.

Despised, rejected, there He lay,
In a manger; upon the hay;
The world around, in darkness lay,
When God came down with man to stay;

He came to earth to save from sin,
But there was no room within the inn;
A few poor shepherds gathered there,
To see Him, Whom was our joint heir.

For they had seen His Own bright star,
Shining in the heavens so far;
There His angels appeared to them,
With "Peace on earth, good will to men".

O ! what a message from the sky !
To wretched sinners, where they lie;
He, Whom our souls have long looked for,
Must come to earth, and here suffer.

The angels sang in the highest,
He in the kingdom, whom now least;
Now lay here, inside a manger,
Came into the world a stranger.

But, He then was born a Savior,
As God, could not be a failure;
Even in death, would see His seed,
For them He would suffer and bleed.

God's Will in Jesus must be done,
And His ordained course, He must run,
To die, and hang upon a tree;
And His blood set His people free.

To raise Himself from death's embrace,
That sinners could look on God's Face;
In glor'ous Hope, they now press on;
The sting of death by sin is gone;

And Death itself's abolished too,
His redemptive work now is through;
For He Who hanged upon the tree,
From sin and death then set us free.
