"... A garden enclosed is my sister, my spouse; a spring shut up, a fountain sealed.
Thy plants are an orchard of pomegranates, with pleasant fruits; camphire, with spikenard,
Spikenard and saffron; calamus and cinnamon, with all trees of frankincense; myrrh and aloes, with all the chief spices:
A fountain of gardens, a well of living waters, and streams from Lebanon.
Awake, O north wind; and come, thou south; blow upon my garden, that the spices thereof may flow out. Let my beloved come into his garden, and eat his pleasant fruits.
I am come into my garden, my sister, my spouse: I have gathered my myrrh with my spice; I have eaten my honeycomb with my honey; I have drunk my wine with my milk: eat, O friends; drink, yea, drink abundantly, O beloved...." Song 4:12-16, 5:1.
"...In that day there shall be a fountain opened to the house of David and to the inhabitants of Jerusalem for sin and for uncleanness...Zec 13:1.
We Are A Garden Walled Around
By O. Allen Bailey
LM
We are a garden walled around,
In the most peaceful place, we're found;
Planted here by The Gardner's Hand,
In the world's wide wilderness land.
A garden of aloes and spice,
Of myrrh and all the herbs so nice;
A healing balm on every side,
Out of a wilderness so wide.
Our Husbandman provides great care,
That we in time our fruit shall bear;
And prunes away each deadened vine,
That we still bring forth our good wine.
A stream runs through our garden here,
And waters all these in God's care;
No fear of heat or drought have they,
For they are watered all the day.
A spring shut up, a fountain sealed,
Will give this garden all it's yield;
Still flowing on, this constant stream,
To all of those Christ did redeem.
A fountain opened up for sin,
To the inhabitants within;
Though was forever sealed in Him
Before the world ever begin.
Fountain of gardens opened there,
A well that all the plants do share;
As cold streams from Lebanon's height
Is this garden's flowing delight.
'Tis ever flowing from Christ's side,
And ever with us shall abide;
Now as a well is springing up,
Our LIfe within this earthly cup.
We have no fear of heat or snow,
When cold winds on us sometimes blow;
They strengthen weaker plants below,
That they may greater verdue show.
Let the north wind on us then blow,
And may the south wind's breezes flow;
Then the sweet savor will flow out,
E'en from the tiny, strugg'ling sprout;
- Within this garden here enclosed,
And with their fragrance, thus engrossed,
Behold, the plants in wonder grow
In this fenced garden here below.
